Star Killer Strain History
Star Killer is a treasured cannabis strain that is a 70/30 indica-dominant hybrid. SK stemmed from a cross of Rare Dankness #2 and Skywalker OG, this is a hard-hitting strain with high THC levels and a pungent, aggressive aroma. Although Star Killer is a newer strain, it has already won a host of awards. She won the THC Championship for three consecutive years and garnered first place in the 2016 Cannabis Cup hybrid category.
Appearance
Star Killer cannabis flowers have a similar look to most of the other OG family strains. However, they often feature more varied and irregular shaped buds. The same plant can produce compact popcorn shaped nugs, in addition to fluffy and open structured ones. The colas feature bright orange hairs with chunky trichomes. Furthermore, there is a generous coating of resin on Star Killer buds. This is the perfect type of resin for some incredible hash making. If you look closely, you can notice hints of purple and gold throughout these magnificent flowers.
Aroma
Star Killer has a strong aroma similar to the smell of freshly picked lemons. There are some old school peppery and skunky flavors too. Breaking apart the buds reveals a sensational satsuma and red grape aroma. Star Killer tastes like a lemon cheesecake that was baked by stoned elves in an evergreen forest.
Star Killer Terpenes
Myrcene is the principal terpene in Star Killer which, is typical for indica dominant strains. Myrcene can be useful in reducing inflammation and chronic pain. Eating mango about 45 minutes before smoking will produce a more intense buzz. That is because mango contains a significant amount of myrcene which boosts the effects of THC and increases the absorption rate of other cannabinoids. Star Killer also contains lesser amounts of the terpenes, limonene, caryophyllene, and linalool.
Cannabinoids
Star Killer is an indica-dominant strain that produces a hard-hitting and potent high. Star Killer has THC levels ranging from 19-29%. Furthermore, SK is great for pain relief thanks to its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. Some smokers get overwhelmed by the high THC content of Star Killer. When enjoying this cannabis strain, novice marijuana users and those sensitive to high amounts of THC are encouraged to start slowly. Star Killer has an average CBD level of 1.8%.
Effects
The Star Killer high begins with a rhythmic cerebral buzz in the back of the head. Then the high slowly creeps down into the rest of the body. The tranquilizing effects are sure to help users achieve deep and restorative sleep. It only takes a few puffs of this one to provide a lasting sensation that relaxes the entire body. SK keeps the mind relatively clear and free of paranoia.
Growing Star Killer Seeds
Star Killer grows chunkier than most of the other strains in the OG Kush family. Additionally, she grows well in both indoor and outdoor gardens. Indoor flowering typically lasts for 60–70 days. The average yield of the plants is around 12-16oz/m2. If choosing to grow outdoors, a Mediterranean climate is preferable. Star Killer finishes flowering in mid-October, producing 16-21oz of tremendous kushy goodness.
